Spring concerts continue -- Soprano Joanne Cook sings with Cantabile -- you decide, is she a drama queen???? :)
Former Juneberry members Faith Alexandre & Jim Schley sing with Thetford Chamber Singers, with whom we also share performance space!
In January 2016, Scott Smedinghoff, a fine pianist, organist, choral musician, and mathematician, died in Lebanon. He was only 28. At the time, he was the musician at the Thetford Hill Church, the accompanist for Full Circle, and a close friend and frequent collaborator with Matthew Marsit, director of the Dartmouth Wind Symphony. Anyone privileged to work with Scott grew to love his sense of the absurd, his giggle, his long "wingspan", his incredible musical skill and equally abundant tact and kindness. Scott was devoted to music of all kinds, but especially Bach and new music. Matthew has planned a wonderful concert this spring which includes pieces commissioned in his honor. One of the pieces he chose, Liberation by David Maslanka, includes a chorus, which is being made up of local singers, most of whom had the opportunity to sing with Scott. Tom and I will be participating.
If you would like to come, we can arrange for 2 for 1 tickets --- please contact us and let us help. I may not be able to sing because of this bug, but I will be there, remembering my 4-hand piano and Thai-lunch partner.
