Come celebrate the life and work of Pete Seeger! Pete was born on May 3rd, 1919. We will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of his birth on Friday, May 3rd, 7 p.m., at the Church of Christ (the "white church") in Hanover with a singalong concert!
Songleader/performers. This concert will feature Annie Patterson & Peter Blood (the creators of the songbooks Rise Up Singing and Rise Again) along with three other beloved folksinger/activists Charlie King and Magpie (Greg Artzner & Terri Leonino) - all of whom worked closely with Pete during his life.
Singing together. We will be singing out of If I Had a Hammer, a new collection of songs that Pete wrote or was great at performing and leading. We have created this songbook especially to honor the 100th anniversary of Pete Seeger's birth. Copies will be available to borrow or buy at the concert - or you can pre-order copies now to pick up when you arrive.
Tickets. You can buy advance tickets now on this site: give your name at the "will call" list at the door. Tickets also will be available at the door for a suggested donation of $20. ("Be generous! Be affordable!") No one turned away for lack of funds.
Solidarity. This concert will celebrate all the many groups in the region working for the things Pete and Toshi believed in and worked for.
