I didn't expect the depth of feeling, the depth of sharing, and the breadth of expansion I would experience. I didn't expect to feel such a level of connection, an ability to share my world grief & at the same time – or almost at the same time – the level of joy...

Finances

It's awkward, I know. But it's real, and decisions about money are part of being a songleader. What do you need? What do you charge? How do you receive? What can you give sustainably? This is a good place to practice!

To start with, please know that I want this songleader training to work for you, your classmates, me, and the group of people who support me in my work. I practice consent-based growth and sharing that's rooted in mutual respect and appreciation, rather than extraction and depletion based on distrust and perceptions of scarcity. This means we both look honestly at our needs and our resources, to figure out how we can help each other come into bloom, richly nourished and supported in this work that can deepen and strengthen communities of care and strength.

There is beauty in being able to pay full value or more for a program which supports you meaningfully in your work, helping you come into fuller bloom as your whole being -- your resources help me and your classmates plant songs in more communities. AND there is equal beauty in being able to name what is possible and honorable for you in this moment, and asking the community to support you in your work. I will run a gofundme campaign to offer our wider communities a chance to support the training of songleaders in a variety of financial circumstances, and all funds raised will go toward meeting the financial need of Flow Singing songleader trainees.

I figured out how much this program will cost me to run, using regular hourly rates for myself and the people who help me, platform fees, insurance, and estimates for housing, food, and venue for the in-person residencies. The total was $3,566 for eight months of guided study and integration, drawing on my extensive training in music, voice, yoga, mindfulness, & group facilitation, as well as the work and life experience I have in creating successful singing programs.

Let's figure out how the cost works for you! To support your process of discerning what is both generous and affordable for you, please consider the green bottle scale. We will support a sliding scale of $366-$4,500. Payment plans to spread out the cost will be available, including design-your-own.

During registration, we will ask which of the following ranges fees possible, honest, generous, and affordable to you, and you will select a payment plan. A $300 deposit will be required to hold your space.
  • Supporting ($3,766-$4,500) -- my green bottle is overflowing & I can help others to come
  • Sustaining ($3,366-$3,766) -- my green bottle is full
  • Supported ($2,366-$3,366) -- I'm in the middle
  • Extra support ($1,366-$2,366) -- my bottle is close to empty
  • Student ($366-$1,366) -- I'm at the very beginning of my life's work

...the thoughtful, compassionate, and constantly self-reflective way in which you held the container for the work: this became, for me, a place to not just connect but to learn. – Aatish, Kindred Voices Flow Singing participant
I'm thinking; please keep reminding me about this program....
